Lac Courte Oreilles Casino, in Hayward,Wisconsin, hired Reliable Security Services in the summer of 2003 to accomplish a difficult surveillance task. Not only did they need to move their Surveillance Room, they also wanted to convert to 100% digital. There was also some other requirements from not only the Tribal Counsel, but the Gaming Commission, in terms of increasing their coverage in the hotel and the perimeter of the casino.

After several visits to the casino and much debate over the design, Reliable Security came up with a concept that included not only exterior trenching, but also the use of NVT twisted pair solution for moving the video around the casino. This casino was built in several stages and there were several difficult construction issues to overcome in terms of running cabling. Also, once the room was moved, it would be almost impossible to get cabling back into the room from other areas of the casino, such as the hotel and new Sports Bar addition. By setting the NVT twisted pair solutions and running multiple twisted pairs Reliable was able to give L.C.O. a workable solution in terms of maintaining their system with camera additions for years to come.

The digital issue proved to be a little more difficult due to budget constraints and some of the local requirements. All the sensitive cash issues to include cage and vault are recorded for 30 FPS at CIF resolution and stored for 30 days. Reliable Security engineered the FAST media product by Honeywell along with a Maxpro switch to meet these challenging requirements. The system was installed with little problems and on time and budget.
